Guide

About these verses, and how to use them

Shukr, gratitude, is named in the Quran as the opposite of kufr, denial. Allah promises increase to those who are grateful, reminds us that we could never count His favours, and notes that few of His servants are truly grateful. Gratitude, the scholars say, is in the heart by recognising the favour, on the tongue by praising Allah, and in the limbs by using the favour in obedience.
