3 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 4 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued.

Look at the sky again and again: you will find no flaw in the creation of the Most Merciful.

About these verses, and how to use them

The word for a verse of the Quran, ayah, also means a sign. The Quran calls the heavens and the earth, night and day, rain, the variety of our languages and colours, and our own bodies ayat too: signs that point to the One who made them. Again and again these verses end with a call to the reader: for people who reflect, who use reason, who listen. These are the main verses on the signs of Allah in creation, each with its context.

How to reflect on the signs

The Prophet ﷺ woke at night, looked at the sky and recited 3:190 to the end of Al Imran, and then prayed (Sahih al-Bukhari, from Ibn Abbas). That is the pattern the Quran teaches: look, think, then turn to Allah. Pick one sign a day, the sunrise, the rain, your own breathing, and read the verse that names it. Ibn Kathir explains 41:53 as a promise that the signs will keep appearing, in the world around us and within ourselves, until the truth is clear. Many people link some of these verses with modern science. The classical tafsir does not depend on that reading, and the call to reflect stands either way.

Other topics: trust in Allah (tawakkul), patience, women, life, death, forgiveness, parents, marriage, hardship and ease, rizq (provision), mercy, gratitude, Ramadan and fasting, peace, motivation, blessings and barakah, love, Allah's love, clouds and rain, education and knowledge, repentance (tawbah), children, charity, the afterlife (akhirah), strength, success, the death of a loved one, the earth.
