Guide
About juz 29, and how to read it.
Juz 29, also called para or sipara 29, runs from 67:1 to 77:50. Eleven Makkan surahs, from Al-Mulk, recited every night, to Al-Mursalat. It is known by its opening words, تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِى (Tabarakalladhi).
Ayat in this juz with their own page on AmalKit: 75:3-4.
What a juz, hizb and quarter are
The Quran is divided into 30 parts of roughly equal length called juz (plural ajza), or para and sipara in Urdu and Bangla. The division is for reading, so that the whole Quran can be finished in a month, and it does not follow the surahs: a juz can start in the middle of one. Each juz has two hizb (60 in all), and each hizb has four quarters, which are marked in the margin of most mushafs.
Reading juz 29 in a day
At 20 pages, juz 29 fits into a day if you read about four pages after each of the five prayers. Use the hizb markers above as stopping points: each quarter is two to three pages. To listen while you read, use the Listen links in the table, which open the recitation tool at that surah and range.
